A mechanical turfgrass wear simulator was constructed for small plot investigations. It was developed for use on experimental units as small as 1m 2 . The wear simulator is operated by an electric motor and is constructed to rotate around a pivotal point with an adjustable diameter ranging from 1.0 to 2.7m. The machine is built of light weight materials in a size and weight so that it can be easily moved by an individual. The wear unit simulates both foot and tire wear on turf.
