A sorghum [ Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] planter was fabricated to replace hand planting and to facilitate economical and uniform seeding of small experimental plots. Four basic units were used in constructing the planter, which seeds rows ranging from 2.84 to 6.35 m in length and 50.8 to 100.6 cm in width. In addition to more uniform seed placement, planting time was reduced by more than 50%.
