An antenna rotor was modified to operate continuously stepwise automatically. The rotor was used to support a vertical profile of micrometeorological apparatus and swept a large surface area above crop rows and bare soil surfaces. The necessary modifications are easy to perform by modifying the control unit of the AC shaded‐pole induction motor.
