Ethrel sprayed on plants of ‘Amsoy’ 1.12, and 2.24 kg/hectare at six stages of development caused a reduction in plant height, percent three‐ and four‐seeded pods per plant, weight per 100 seed, and yield of seed per hectare. Percent moisture, protein and oil of mature seed were not appreciably affected by the treatments. The anti‐lodging effect of Ethrel is discussed.
