The visual symptoms which appear in sweet potato, Ipomoea batatas , under conditions of deficiency of nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron are described. These symptoms were produced by growth of two node cuttings in sand culture. Results of tissue analysis for three harvests during the growth period are also presented.
