On the evidence, tobacco thrips, Frankliniella fusca (Hinds), are not vectors of natural cross‐pollination of the peanut flower in the vicinity of Tifton, Georgia. Cross‐pollination did not occur when plants were caged to prevent bee (but not thrip) visitations to flowers. Cross‐pollination occurred when plants were not caged and bees visited the flowers. Halictid bees were the principal bee visitors.
