Synopsis Number of harvested bolls per unit of mature stalk weight appeared to estimate fruiting efficiency as well as number of counted bolls per unit of vegetative weight, or weight of fruit over weight of vegetative parts. An attempt to equate foliage volume with vegetative or stalk weight, to avoid plant sacrifice, did not prove successful.
