Synopsis Uptake of Ca and K varied several fold with saturation and electrolyte level. Nitrogen had less pronounced effects on cation uptake. Similar information on Ca uptake was obtained in a 4‐day period as was obtained in a 40‐day period, while there was less similarity in trends of K uptake for the 2 growth periods.
