Synopsis Growth and yield increases were obtained in cotton, corn, and sugar beets with the treated fertilizers as compared to equal rates of untreated fertilizers. These growth increases are considered to have been due to the inhibition of nitrification by the chemical additive, and subsequent reduction in nitrogen losses by leaching.
