Synopsis Mo. B‐475, normal, and C.I. 7439, “uzu”, winter barley varieties were compared with all treatment combinations of 3 fertilizer rates and solid and spaced seeding rates. Mo. B‐475 produced higher grain yields as a result of more spike‐bearing tillers and heavier kernels; C.I. 7439 had the largest number of kernels per spike. None of the “variety × fertilizer” interactions reached the 5% level of significance.
