Synopsis Winter wheat seeded in multiple‐ and single‐tilled seedbeds produced comparable yields over a 6‐year period. The annual cost of from 2 to 4 additional tillage operations required to prepare finely worked seedbeds varied from $2.00 to $4.50 and averaged $2.88 per acre.
