Synopsis Air and oven drying resulted in increases of exchangeable potassium over that extracted from field moist soil. The drying effects were greater in samples from unfertilized plots than in samples from plots receiving moderate and heavy potassium treatments. Air drying had only a slight effect on the extractable phosphorus.
