Synopsis The F 1 , F 2 , F 3 , and backcross hybrids of the greenbug‐resistant varieties Dickinson Selection 28A and C.I. 9058 crossed with the susceptible varieties Ponca, Concho, and Crockett, and with each other, revealed that resistance is conditioned by a single recessive gene pair, common to both resistant strains. The gene symbol gbgb was assigned.
