Synopsis Lodging resistance in oat crosses as measured by the cL r method appeared to be genetically controlled. Heritability percentages were 19, 6, and 15, respectively, for the F 2 –F 3 , F 2 –F 4 , and F 3 –F 4 , comparisons. Considerable variability for lodging resistance was found among lines selected from Clintland variety.
