Synopsis The germination of Dallisgrass pollen on artificial media shows no significant differences between high and low seed producing selections, sugar concentrations, degrees of acidity, or media. Temperatures of 30° C. and below are indicated as best for germination on artificial media. Artificial pollen germination was found to be unreliable as a basis of selection for improved seed production in Dallisgrass.
