Synopsis Dry weight accumulation in alfalfa seedlings was essentially proportional to light intensity when grown under 750, 1500, and 3000 f‐c. and a 15‐hour photoperiod. A high light intensity period followed by a low intensity period resulted in greater dry weight accumulatlon than an inverse light regime even though the total amount of incident energy was the same.
