Synopsis Two mass‐screening technics were effective in increasing the range of hard seededness in common crimson clover so that progeny lines with a higher percentage of hard seed were obtained. Reselection within the lines by the water‐soak method increased the average percentage of hard seed and the upper limit of the range of hard seededness.
