Synopsis Nitrogen applications to a vigorous alfalfa‐orchardgrass sod on Wooster silt loam produced more hay but increased the grass at the expense of the alfalfa. The yield, crude protein percentage, and botanical composition of alfalfa‐bromegrass and alfalfa‐timothy sods were not affected by nitrogen.
