Synopsis In crosses of Kenya Farmer with Marquis, Kentana, and Lerma, the mature plant reaction to a collection of races of stem rust in the field appeared to be inherited on a relatively simple basis, with resistance dominant. The F 3 seedling reactions to stem rust race 15B indicated an interaction of 3 independently inherited genes for resistance and 2 epistatic genes for susceptibility. Seedling reaction to races 38 and 11 were the same except there was only 1 susceptible gene.
