Synopsis A red clover interseeding reduced spring oat yields but increased the test weight. Reductions in oat yields due to the presence of clover increased as oat row width increased. Grain yields and test weights were reduced as the row width of oats increased and seeding rate decreased. The importance of cultural practices in increasing a small amount of seed of a new oat variety is discussed.
