Synopsis Fifty‐eight inbred lines of corn were compared under heavy epidemics of Helminthosporium turcicum leaf blight for 6 seasons. There were highly significant differences among the lines and among the seasons. The variance for lines × seasons interaction also was highly significant but small and of minor importance. Some lines were highly resistant in all seasons, indicating the possibility of developing inbred lines with sufficient resistance to afford adequate protection to this disease under most conditions.
