Synopsis Four F 2 families segregated for normal and branched racemes in ratios approaching 9:7, 10:1, and 3:1; backcross ratios were 3:5, 2.7:1, and 1:1. F 2 families segregated for normal and vestigial flowers in ratios of 9:7, 3:1, 2.7:1, and 2.4:1; backcross ratios were 3:5, 1:1, 5:3, and 7:9. Tetra‐disomic inheritance is proposed, assuming 2 complementary genes for each normal character.
