During recent years, much study has been devoted to the influence of cropping systems and fertilizers on the soil flora. Likewise, the influence of soil flora on crop production has received wide attention. There is no doubt in the minds of people today but that the lower forms of organisms found in the soil have a big influence on the growth of higher plants. The literature on this subject is so extensive that no attempt will be made to give a review of it in this short paper.
