The paper uses the approach of studies of material culture to study film as a cultural artefact, and analyzes the film "Something in Between" using the methods of artefact analysis suggested by Jules Prown. The phases of analysis are: description – a thick description of the analyzed artefact/thing; evaluation – positioning the analyzed thing in a wider historical, social, cultural, political context in which it acquires specific meanings.
