The paper deals with the current concept of “anthropology in crisis”, based on the collection ofpapers “The End of Anthropology”, dedicated to this particular issue. The positions presented in this book are used as a starting point for further discussion about the crisis discourse in anthropology. The paper critically examines the identified sources of crisis (interdisciplinarity, professionalization, etc) but also refers to other aspects of crisis that should be further discussed (relativism, applied anthropology, political aspects of anthropology).
