В центре внимания статьи находятся климатические объяснения патогенности жарких стран, доминировавшие в западной медицине в Новое время. Исследуется связь между концептуализацией жарких климатов врачами и меняющимся интеллектуальным и политическим контекстом XVII–XIX вв. The article is focused on climatic explanations of the pathogenicity of the tropics, which dominated in Western medicine of the modern period. It explores the relationship between the conceptualisation of hot climates by physicians and the changing intellectual and political contexts of the 17th – 19th centuries.
