Thecrystallizationof silumins has been shown to be a nanostructured process. Liquid silumin consists of elementary nanocrystals of aluminum and silicon, free atoms of aluminum and silicon, aluminum-silicon complexes. Primary microcrystals are formed from them. Eutectic microcrystals are formed from elementary nanocrystals of silicon and aluminum, aluminumsilicon complexes.
