We try to compare some of the most relevant topics that are found in the philosophy of two medieval an jewish authors: Ibn Gabirol and Maimonides. They are topics such as «finire-infinite», «matter-form», «emanation», and so on. The comparison has a purpose: to show that, in spite of the slight differences, both philosophies share a beat that is more common tan it has been pointed so far. On the other hand, this is an attempt to recover Maimonides as a real philosopher, not in a sense based on the idea of «mediaeval phylosophy-theology», but in a sense that leads him beyond in the western thought.
