In this work we try to emphasise the relationship between Maimonides and Avempace. Both authors put man´s end in the theoretical life, the acquisition of the intellective virtues and the union with the Agent Intellect they consider as God’s gift. Also both insist in the necessity of acquiring the moral virtues, which are a way to get the intellective ones and the acquisition of the social life. Finally, both authors coincide in the values of the solitude for a wise man.
