The purpose of this study is to describe the content of the values from literary texts in Indonesian textbooks and describe their relevance to learning objectives of junior high school. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approarch. The data of this study are all literary texts from Indonesian textbook of first year junior high school. The procedure to collect data uses documentation studies. There six data analysis: collection, reduction, presentation, temporary conclusions, verfication, and final conclusion. The result of this study are found in three content moral: psychological, social, and religious. Psychological values: love of the homeland, responsibility, peace of mind, hard work, discipline, and honesty. Social values: tenacious, respectful achievement, love to help, curiosity, generous, caring, environmentally friendly and communicative, fair and tolerant. Religious values: piety and faith. The values ​​are in accordance with learning competencies.
