In this research, salacca edulis peel was synthesized into activated carbon as Pb2+ ion adsorbent. This conversion process involved an affordable method of carbonization and activation using KOH. The adsorbent material obtained was then characterized by FTIR and used in the study of kinetics and adsorption isotherms in solutions containing Pb2+. The characterization results indicated functional groups that may be involved in adsorption such as O-H. In the adsorption application, the determination of the concentration of Pb2+ was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The optimum adsorption time condition in this study was 15 minutes with adsorption capacity reaching 90% where the adsorption kinetics followed pseudo second order while the adsorption isotherm was in accordance with the Langmuir isotherm equation
