This study will highlight the potency of Mahogany wood biochar as an adsorbent for Cr (VI) in Batik wastewater. Adsorption is a good method for the treatment of certain types of waste. One promising adsorbent is activated carbon. Activated carbon can be prepared from materials that contain high carbon-based organic compounds such as cellulose and hemiscellulose. Mahogany wood contains a lot of content such as cellulose, holocellulose, hemicellulose and lignin respectively 47.26, 74.63, 23.37 and 25.82 in percent. The organic compounds contained rich Carbon are good raw material for biochar preparation. Biochar is a porous wood charcoal substance (porous). Biochar magnetic was remarkable material to reduce metal Cr (VI) from Batik wastewater. This study was concluded that Mahogany wood characteristics that are almost the same as other wood could potentially be used as raw materials for biochar for adsorption Cr (VI) from batik waste.
