Hypoxia and its related oxidate stress are the direct cause of the neural damage due to chronic cerebral ischemia. Resistance to hypoxia and oxidate stress is the main marker of the human and brain adaptation to chronic ischemia. Hypoxia resistance and the condition of the glutation antioxidant system in the difference stages of chronic cerebral ischemia was investigated in this study. 310 patients from 35 to 55 years with the first (100 persons), second (105 persons) and third stages (105 persons)) of chronic cerebrovasculare insufficiency were examened. Decreasing of the hypoxia resistance and resistance to oxidate stress at chronic cerebral ischemia was shown. The average figure of hypoxia resistance and functional activity of the glutation system at the different stages of the chronic cerebral ischemia shows the course of the general adaptive syndrome.
