This paper presents a corpus-based approach to the study of anaphora. A sample demonstratives collected in a dialogue corpus is analysed with the purpose of investigating collocations and patterns of texts, associating anaphoras with antecedents by means of a data-driven classification wich attempts to capture cognitive processes.
