This article introduces and discusses, from an enactive perspective (autopoiesis theory), the notion of context, in terms of the way it has been presented in semantic and pragmatic theories and in models of language production and reception. The paper also proposes and describes an introductory model of language production and reception, in which the term "extracognitive" appears as a central notion.
