The article discusses the conceptual foundations of the formation of the basic skills of functional literacy of persons with special psychophysical development in the social and communicative sphere with the aim of including children with different educational needs in the educational process, their optimal mastering of the content of curricula and preparation for successful life. The author indicates the principles on which the system of work is built, the formed communication skills.
