Riassunto: Il presente contributo si propone di analizzare gli interventi storiografici prodotti in Italia per il bimillenario della nascita di Augusto. Particolare attenzione e rivolta a tre nuclei tematici: Augusto come rivoluzionario, instauratore del novus status rei publicae; Augusto capo carismatico, Führer - Dux; l’esaltazione dell’impero augusteo.Parole chiave: Augusto, fascismo, storiografia, bimillenario della nascita di Augusto.Abstract: The aim of the paper is to analyse Italy’s historical contributions to the two-thousandth anniversary of Augustus’ birth. The analysis focuses on three thematic fields: Augustus the revolutionary founder of the novus status rei publicae, the charismatic leadership of Augustus Führer-Dux and the eulogy of the Augustan Empire.Key words: Augustus, fascism, historiography, two-thousandth anniversary of Augustus’ birth.
