Resumen: El artículo analiza los pri­meros cursos de verano que entraron en funcionamiento en la Universidad española y muestra cómo se concebía la “extensión universitaria” entre 1927 y 1936. Era la pri­mera vez que una Universidad se trasladaba, temporal y periódicamente, a otro sitio donde creía que sus enseñanzas podían ser útiles. Se profundiza en la programación de estos cur­sos, en las temáticas abordadas y en los profe­sores participantes. Desde su nacimiento, los cursos vincularon el aprendizaje al contacto con la naturaleza. La educación recreativa se entendía como pedagogía del ocio o, si se quiere, con propuestas más actuales basadas en el papel educativo de las emociones.Palabras clave: Universidad española, Jaca, Zaragoza, Unamuno, Lorca.Abstract: The article investigates the first summer courses, that took place at Spa­nish University and analyses how they were formed “the university extension” between 1927 and 1936. It was the first time that a uni­versity had moved temporarily and periodica­lly to another place where it was believed that its teaching could be useful. It was deepened at the programming of these courses, at the addressed issues and at the participating pro­fessors. Since its beginning the courses linked recreational linking with nature. Recreational education was understood as leisure peda­gogy or, in other words, as more up to date proposals, based on the educative role of the emotions.Keywords: Spanish University, Jaca, Saragossa, Unamuno, Lorca.
