Katarzyna Ryrych’s Złociejowo novel is very interesting and seems to be a repetition of ideas known from A.A. Milne or T. Jansson. However, a careful reading suggests completely different associations, of which the closest are Jerzy Andrzejewski’s Złoty lis [Golden Fox]. Therefore, the novel would be a kind of opposition to modernity, or rather —to the direction in which civilization is currently heading. The study is an attempt to describe the work and answer the question in the title.
