THE JUDICIAL COUNCIL IN THE SYSTEMOF CONSTITUTIONAL BODIES OF THE SLOVAK REPUBLICThe study analyses the political position, composition, organisation and competence of the Judicial Council in Slovakia. It is a constitutional body Article 141a guarding the independence of the institution responsible for the selection and promotion of judges. The inclusion of the Judicial Council in the seventh chapter of the Constitution was to emphasise its independence from the legislative and executive powers. The purpose of the text is to introduce the principles of functioning of the institution and the evolution of its inclusion in the legal system of Slovakia.
