In the Foreword to the last issue I gave an assurance that the proposed amendments to the Mental Health Act 1983 would be considered in ‘the next issue’. I am delighted that that assurance is being honoured within the following pages. Throughout, readers will encounter numerous reflections on, and considerations of, the contents of the Mental Health Bill 2006 published in November 2006.
