A case is reported of “desquamative gingivitis” in a 13‐year‐old male patient. On the basis of the clinical distribution of lesions, the histopathology, and direct and indirect immunofluorescent tests, the lesions were definitively diagnosed as cicatricial pemphigoid. This case is unusual because of the age of the patient, and further illustrates the value of immunologic tests in establishing a specific diagnosis of desquamative lesions.
