Abstract Self‐luminous electronic devices emit optical radiation at short wavelengths, close to the peak sensitivity of melatonin suppression. The present paper uses the mathematical model to estimate acute melatonin suppression by electronic devices and computer screens. Results of a study testing these predictions are also presented.
