This paper will described advances in active matrix displays for e‐Readers using microcup electrophoretics. The talk will discuss the baseline technology and performance, some of the technical problems which were overcome to achieve suitable performance, and advances made in scale‐up of manufacturing infrastructure and distribution channels. Future opportunities will be described which are evolving for next generation devices.
