In order to eliminate the double images caused from thick windshield, we used optical thin film technology to design a beam splitter applied for head‐up display (HUD). In our research, light source we used is p‐ polarized light because of its contrast is better than s‐polarization. This beam splitter can reflect multicolor and improve the influence of ghost images. Reflectance ofp polarization is 22.6% and the total reflecting contrast of the first surface to the second surface is 9, while the total transmittance of beam splitter is above 70%.
