A cost‐effective 3‐pair intra‐panel interface for flat panel displays is presented. By simply modifying the protocol of a conventional interface such as AiPi+, all video data from a TCON can be transferred to a column driver IC without any additional need to revise the interface physical layer. By adopting this interface, 64 wires are reduced to 48 wires for a 30‐bit color 120Hz 3D flat panel display device using 8 driver ICs.
