Portable multi‐media devices with electrowetting‐based displays take advantage of the supreme optical performances and of the video capabilities of the screen. As described in this paper these displays benefit from the implementation of dynamic adaptive frame rate driving schemes, resulting in ultra‐low power consumption and extended battery life while maintaining the high level of image quality.
