A novel flat‐pane‐display based on interference modulation for both intensity and color is presented. The system has the potential to sextuple the optical efficiency of the current TFT‐LCD technology, and an improved configuration can achieve comparable display quality as that of TFT‐LCD, enabling it as a promising display solution to handheld devices.
