In this paper, we describe an output buffer with a fast settling time without compromising the power consumption. It was achieved by employing a slew boosting circuit SBC that operates just during the transition. This scheme was implemented into a 6bit 720ch column driver IC with a 0.18μm 13V high voltage CMOS process. The measured static current was 3.2μA. The settling time at 99.5% was 1.4μs with 10KΩ load resistance and 280pF load capacitance.
