In a new approach to 3‐D display, a novel beveled array of singlemode optical fibers, placed at an angle in front of a lens, generates a multifocal superimposed bundle of beams. When scanned biaxially, each beam generates a plane at a different optical viewing distance, forming a multilayer volumetric display.
